Aaron Kennedy is a Level 2 CrossFit instructor and USAW Sport Performance Coach. Aaron began coaching because he passionately believes in the life-changing benefits of functional fitness. His goal as a coach is to inspire individuals to make long-term lifestyle changes, and he has found that CrossFit’s scalable intensity and commitment to functional movement makes it the perfect program for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Aaron enjoyed 12+ years in the law enforcement community. During his tenure he served as a Tactical Operator for North County SWAT, and proudly served as a Detective in his department’s Special Enforcement Unit. Aaron understands the training needs of the operational athlete.

Jeff Vinzon was introduced to strength training at the age of 12 by his uncle and cousin. His interest for strength training grew from there, building upon the foundation of utilizing barbell movements and free weights to develop strength and power. Jeff was not your typical kid or teenager. While others at that age were out after school or on weekends, Jeff was a gym-rat, often spending 2 to 3 hours a day at the gym and reading books, articles and magazines on strength and conditioning when at home.

Jeff spent 5 years in the US Navy as a corpsman serving with the 2nd Battalion 1st Marine Regiment. In 2004, Jeff was introduced to the CrossFit methodology as he and others in his unit used it to supplement and change up their usual physical training. Jeff saw the value of CrossFit both for the tactical athlete as well as the general population.

Jeff received his ISSA Trainer Certification and worked as a personal trainer for 24 Hour Fitness after the military. When he saw applicable, he would use the CrossFit methodology to train his clients. At the time, CrossFit was still in its infancy and not very well known. Jeff left 24 Hour Fitness as he found that they did not support his idea of melding traditional  strength and conditioning methods with the CrossFit methods.

He joined CrossFit Anaheim in 2010 as a memeber but found himself wanting to help out more. In 2011, he received his CF-L1 certification and, wanting to hone his training skills, began coaching several sessions per week. He soon found that there was much to learn and was especially drawn to seek out more knowledge on the Olympic lifts.

Jeff sought out help from the bio-mechanical expert, Sean Waxman. Jeff joined Waxman's Gym in 2011 both to better himself as a weightlifter and as a coach. During this time, Jeff's coaching roles and responsibilities expanded as well with him taking positions as Head Coach at CrossFit San Gabriel Valley (2014-2015) and CrossFit Ero (2014-2016).

Jeff soon found an opportunity to come back to CrossFit Anaheim as a full-fledged coach (2015). It is here that, in 2016, Jeff established Strength Actual Weightlifting becoming the weightlifting arm of the gym. Jeff still trains under Coach Sean Waxman as well as with Waxman's weightlifting team. When he isn't being coached, the rest of his time is devoted to developing the growing weightlifting club and athletes under his watch at Strength Actual Weightlifting.
